NICEVILLE, Fla. – No. 3 Northwest Florida State women’s basketball dominated in the paint en route to a 106-80 win over No. 13 Gulf Coast on Tuesday in Raider Arena.

The Raiders scored 66 points in the paint and 40 points off of 21 Gulf Coast turnovers.

Northwest Florida led for 36:15 of the game and by as many as 36 points in the second half.

Inès Piper was nearly unstoppable with 24 points on a 12-of-14 effort from the field. In total, five Raiders scored in double figures.

Chanaya Pinto turned in her eighth double-double of the year with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Noelani Cornfield and Masengo Mutanda each scored 12 points, while Last-Tear Poa added 11.

Northwest Florida shot 60.8 percent (45-74) as a team, a season-high, while outrebounded the Commodores 41-23.

The Raiders return to action at home on Thursday against Tallahassee. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
