The Midland College WNIT had some interesting games on Day 2. Seward won in the closing seconds, Trinity Valley was challenge vs. Florida Southwestern, Kilgore defeated the host team, and Odessa did not play well but still defeated Hill College in a low scoring game.
Odessa 49, Hill 44 - Freshman Sophia Persson was perfect from the field, finishing with 14 points.
Seward County 59, Salt Lake 55 - Seward County struggled shooting the ball from the field throughout the game but delivered when it counted down the stretch and at the free throw line.
Trinity Valley 66, Florida Southwestern 59 - A preview of a potential NJCAA National Tournament Final Four match-up and at times look like a track meet. Freshman Sheslanie Laureano had a game-high 27 points for the Bucs.
Kilgore 65, Midland College 57 - Kilgore's backcourt was too much for Midland to handle. Jada Hood had 15 points and hit a key 3 down the stretch to put Midland away for good. Annilia Dawn finished with 17 points, 7 assists, 3 stls, and 8 rebounds against her former team.
