NC State was tabbed as the WER preseason favorite in the ACC women's basketball, taking home the top spot in the 2022-23 WER preseason poll as voted on by the WER Poll Committee. 

NC State has finished in the top three of the conference each of the last four seasons, winning three straight ACC Championship titles.

NC State tops the order of finish, with Louisville, Duke, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Florida State, and Miami rounding out the top half the league. Syracuse, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Boston College, Pitt, and Virginia round out the bottom half.

Virginia Tech Elizabeth Kitley was voted as the World Exposure Report ACC Women’s Basketball Preseason Player of the Year. Kitley, averaged 18.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, and finished first in the ACC with 15 double-doubles. In addition, she scored 34 points twice and finished the year with a 42-point performance in the NCAA Tournament, the second-most ever scored in the opening round of competition.
