It’s never too early to start looking ahead!

 

Our list of 20 impact JUCO transfers to watch for the 22-23 college basketball season. 

In no particular order:

Starr Jacobs, UT Arlington 
Last season was a very busy one for Jacobs. She collected Sun Belt Player of the Year, Tournament MVP, and the Dave Campbell's Texas Junior of the Year award.  She finished 13th in the country in points per game with 21.0 (became the only Lady Mav in school history to average 20 points per game), added 6.6 rpg, and 2.3 spg. In addition, she was a WER Juco Transfer finalist in
2022 and was named WER Sophomore of the Year in 2021.

Daisha Bradford, Clemson
Bradford had 11 double-digit scoring games and turned in a career-high 18 points against #14 Georgia Tech, including a buzzer-beating layup to send send the game to overtime. 

Kobe King-Hawea, James Madison
King-Hawea was the No. 1 junior college player in her class by WER and was named the WER NJCAA Freshman of the Year in 2020. 

Naomie Alnatas, Oklahoma State 
Alnatas started 32 games last season for UMKC, averaging 18.6 points, 5.3 assists, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game. Those numbers had her ranked top-35 in assists per game, field goals made and total points scored. She was a WER Juco Transfer finalist in 2022. 

Tishara Morehouse, Florida Gulf Coast

Morehouse is coming off her best season playing at the Division 1 level. She averaged 17.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals. Her scoring averaged was second best in program’s Division 1 era and the ASUN. In addition, she was a WER Juco Transfer finalist in
2021 and 2022.

Isnelle Natabou, Sacramento State
She was named Big Sky Conference Newcomer of the Year and was named All-Big Sky Conference second team. Isnelle is the second player in school history to win top newcomer honors from the Big Sky. In addition, she ranked No. 23 in the NCAA with 15 double-doubles and stood No. 4 in the NCAA in field goal percentage (.643). Coming out of Junior College, Natabou was ranked as the 8th best Juco prospect by World Exposure Report and was a
WER Juco Transfer finalist in 2022. 

Asia Strong, Syracuse
She started 29 games for Wichita State while averaging 10.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game last season.

Okako Adika, USC
Adika was ranked
No. 14 by World Exposure Report in the 2020 Juco Rankings.  She started all but one game in her 2020-21 season at TCU, where she was the team’s second leading scorer with 10.1 points per game.
 

Catarina Ferreira, Baylor
Ferreira was ranked as the No. 2 JUCO player in the country by World Exposure Report.  She averaged 10.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists as a sophomore at Eastern Arizona (JUCO). 

Felmas Koranga, Troy

Felmas was a WER JUCO Transfer finalist in 2021 and 2022. In 2021-22 season she was selected All-Sun Belt First Team and named to the Sun Belt All-Tournament Team. In addition, she set the Division 1 single-season rebounds record ) 354 and ranked third all-time. She ranked 10th nationally in rebounds and 18th nationally with 17 double-doubles. 

Ta’Shonna Wright-Gaskins, Illinois State
She helped the Lady Indians make back-to-back appearances at the NJCAA Tournament and was named to the WER All-Invitational Team in 2021. 

Daijah Smith, Illinois State
Led the Lady Warriors to a 28-2 record that saw the team capture its sixth consecutive regional and district championship en route to a national tournament appearance. She ended her Juco career as a WER All-American. 

De’Myla Brown, Houston was named WER Sophomore of the Year in 2021. In Junnior college she helped Chipola College to a Final Four appearance in the 2021 NJCAA Championship Tournament after capturing the FCSAA State tournament MVP. 


Last Tear Poa, LSU 
Poa was named  a WER Sophomore of the Year finalist in
2022 and was ranked No. 1 in the WER Juco Player rankings. She led the Northwest Florida State College to a NJCAA Championship her freshman season and earning NJCAA Tournament MVP. 

Taiyanna Jackson, Kansas
She was highly ranked (2nd Overall) by World Exposure Report coming out of Junior College.  Jackson was named to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team and was named Honorable Mention All-Big 12 last season.

Morgan Robinson-Nwagwu, UCF
Morgan was named  a WER Sophomore of the Year finalist in
2022 and was named to the WER All-Invitational Team in 2021. 

Jordan McLaughlin, Old Dominion 
Mclaughlin was named to the WER All-Invitational Team in 2021. 


Ale’jah Douglas, Clemson
Douglas was named the WER NJCAA Sophomore of the Year in
2022.

Jashanti Simmons, Troy
During her two years in Junior College, GHC went 53-7 overall and made two consecutive national tournament appearances with a NJCAA National Runner Up in 2022. Simmons was named  a WER Sophomore of the Year finalist in
2022. In addition, she was named Player of the Year by the NJCAA and WBCA.
