Cheryl Miller Award Watch List

Ashley Joens      Iowa State
Joens was the winner of the 2021 Cheryl Miller Award after putting together one of the best seasons in Iowa State women's basketball history. Joens set a new school record of 24.2 points per game, topping Carleton's previous mark of 21.7 points per game in 2018-19. Joens also finished the season second in points scored (678), tied for seventh in rebounding average (9.5), fourth in free-throw percentage (.883), third in free-throws made (181), sixth in free throws attempted (205), fourth in field goals made (223), third in field goals attempted (482).

Jasmine Dickey Delaware
Dickey is the reigning CAA Player of the Year and established herself as one of the best two-way players in the league last season. She averaged 22.6 points per game during the 2020-21 season to rank second in the conference while ranking third in rebounding with 9.1 per game. Dickey was fourth in the league, averaging 2.4 steals per game, earning a spot on the CAA All-Defensive team, in addition to first-team all-conference honors.

Grace Berger     Indiana
Berger earned WBCA and USWBA All-American honorable mention honors and was also an All-Big Ten first team selection. She scored in double figures 23 times as a junior including seven games scoring 20 points or more. The Louisville, Ky. native and 2021-22 preseason All-Big Ten honoree looks to be the 29th member of IU’s 1,000-point club as she enters the 2021-22 season with 996 career points.

Rhyne Howard  Kentucky
Howard was the only player in the nation in 2020-21 to average over 20 points per game with at least 7.3 rebounds per game, 90 assists and 60 steals – had a great junior season for the Wildcats, averaging 20.7 points per game with 7.3 rebounds per game. She hit a team-best 56 3-pointers and had 91 assists, 61 steals and 19 blocks. Although her scoring average was two points less than it was in 2019-20, Howard showed she is an all-around player and not just a scorer, upping her rebounds per game, assists per game and steals per game average from both her freshman and sophomore seasons.

Chloe Bibby        Maryland
Bibby was third on the highest scoring team in the country with 13.2 points per game, plus 6.0 rebounds per contest. Shot 86.8 percent from the free throw line (59-68) and scored in double figures in 21 of 29 games. Bibby helped the Terrapins to a record of 26-3, 17-1 in Big Ten play and the Big Ten regular season and tournament titles. The Terps advanced to the Sweet Sixteen.

She is currently nine points from 1,000 in her career with 991. She earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention honors last season

Rae Burrell         Tennessee
Burrell averaged 16.8 ppg. and 4.6 rpg. and hit double figures in 22 of 25 contests. She shot 45.8 percent on field goals, 40.2 on three-pointers and 82.5 percent from the free-throw line, all easily career bests. The 6-foot-1 Las Vegas native fired in 15 or more points 17 times and hit 20+ on seven occasions, leading UT in the first two categories and ranking second in the third a year ago.

Kayla Wells        Texas A&M
Wells begins the 2021-22 season as the all-time leader in 3-point field goal percentage (.369) and currently sits at 13th on the A&M all-time scoring list with 1,321 career points. Look for her named to be called in this upcoming WNBA Draft.
