Auburn receives commitment from junior college All-American guard JaKayla Johnson.

The No. 5 junior college prospect in the nation according to World Exposure Report has verbally committed to play basketball next season at Auburn, head coach Johnnie Harris announced Tuesday evening.

JaKayla Johnson (Clinton, Miss.) will join the Tigers for the 2022-23 season.

The junior college All-American guard averaged 15.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.4 steals per game last season for Jones College in Mississippi.

Johnson, who has already taken an official visit to Auburn, scored a season-high 39 points as a freshman last season. She is expected to be an immediate impact performer for Auburn and a key piece in rebuilding the program that has made three trips to the NCAA Tournament Final Four.
