UTSA Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Lisa Campos on Tuesday announced that the school will not renew the contract of head women's basketball coach Kristen Holt.

"I want to thank Kristen for her hard work and dedication to the women's basketball program and tireless commitment to the student-athletes during her tenure," Campos said. "We are grateful for her contributions to our department and to the university.

"We are committed to positioning the program for future success within Conference USA and nationally, and we will immediately conduct a national search for our next head women's basketball coach."

Named the ninth head coach in program history on Aug. 12, 2017, Holt guided the Roadrunners to a 24-83 (.224) overall record and a 10-54 (.156) league mark in four seasons. A pair of her players garnered conference recognition in 2019 all-conference performer Marie Benson and 2020 C-USA All-Freshman Team honoree Mikayla Woods. In 2018, she led UTSA to their first appearance in the second round of the C-USA Tournament since 2014.

Prior to her tenure as head coach, Holt was UTSA's associate head coach for three seasons after serving as head coach at Colorado State in 2008-12. She also has assistant coaching experience at Colorado State (2007-08), Wichita State (2003-07), Radford (1995-2001) and Xavier (1993-94).
