2021 Women's Basketball Conference Tournament Schedules

Thursday, March 11

Game 1: #9 Indiana State vs. #8 Southern Illinois, 89-90
This was the 16th overtime game in MVC tournament history. SIU snapped a five game losing streak and improved their record to 9-15.

Makenzie Silvey is now the No. 5 in career scoring at SIU with 1,511 career points, passing Sue Faber.

Indiana State Jasmine Elder scored 31 points in the lost.

Game 2: #10 Evansville vs. #7 Valparaiso, 52-65
The Purple Aces, suffering their seventh straight loss, closed out the season with a 6-18 record. In the first half, Evansville shot 12-18 from the field, but committed 16 turnovers. Abby Feit had 4 3-pointers in the first half and 16 points at intermission, finishing with an 18 point, 12 rebound performance. 

Valpo collected 17 steals. 

Friday, March 12
Game 3: #8 Southern Illinois vs. #1 Missouri State, 59-70
Brice Calip, the league's Jackie Stiles Player of the Year, scored 17 points to lead the top-seeded Lady Bears, who shot 75 percent (15-for-20) over the final two quarters to pull away from a 28-25 halftime lead and beat Southern Illinois 70-59 Friday for their 17th straight victory.

Abby Hipp added 11 points and six rebounds for the Lady Bears (21-2), who went 16-0 in league play this season, and Elle Ruffridge scored 10.

Game 4: #5 Bradley vs. #4 Northern Iowa, 62-59
UNI Megan Maahs had her first double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Maahs is No. 16 in UNI career scoring list with 1, 104 points. 

Bradley's Haack game-high 25 points (Bradley MVC Tournament Record) moved her into the No. 3 spot on the Bradley career scoring list with 1586 points. 

Game 5: #7 Valparaiso vs. #2 Drake, 60-71
Kierra Collier and Grace Berg each scored 13 points to lead the Bulldogs (16-10), who reached the semifinal round for the fifth straight time.

Carie Weinman led Valparaiso (12-13) with 19 points on 8-for-12 shooting. Shay Frederick added 13 points, two assists and three steals and Ella Ellenson scored 11.

Game 6: #6 Loyola vs. #3 Illinois State, 61-60
Allison Day scored a career-high 23 points to lead Loyola, making 10-of-13 shots, grabbing five rebounds and handing out three assists. Though shooting behind the arc is not her specialty, Day made her sixth 3-pointer of the season and it came at a key time.

Sam Galanopoulos added 11 points for the Ramblers, including three 3-pointers, and Ellie Rice hit three treys for nine points.

Redmond had a huge game for Illinois State (15-7), hitting her first seven shots and finishing 9-for-10 in scoring a career-best 23 points. She also led her team with nine rebounds and four assists. Paige Saylor scored 11 points for the Redbirds, who had won five straight, and DeAnna Wilson scored eight.

Saturday, March 13
Game 7:  #6 Loyola vs. #5 Bradley, 56-70
Gabi Haack, who tied a school record by making her 107th start, added 16 points for the Braves to run her career total to 1,602. She's the career scoring leader among the Valley's active players.

Ellie Rice led Loyola (11-13) with 17 points, while Allison Day had 14 points and seven rebounds. MVC Freshman of the Year Maya Chandler, who made the game-winning free throw in the Ramblers' 61-60 quarterfinal victory over Illinois State, added eight points, as did Sam Galanopoulos.
 
Sunday, March 14
Game 9:  #5 Bradley vs. #2 Drake, 78-70
Bradley, winning its fifth straight game, moved its record to 17-11 while advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history…Bradley is 11-28 in the MVC Tournament, including a 3-1 mark as the No. 5 seed...a 6-4 mark in Moline and a 1-3 tourney mark against Drake.
