BRACKET RELEASED FOR 2021 CAA WOMEN’S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

RICHMOND, Va. (February 17, 2021) – The bracket for the 2021 CAA Women’s Basketball Championship, presented by Sonabank, has been released. The nine-team tournament will be held March 10-13 at Schar Center on the campus of Elon University in Elon, N.C.

The tournament gets started at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10 as the #8 seed faces the #9 seed. There are four quarterfinal contests on Thursday, March 11 with games taking place at 11 a.m. (#4 seed vs. #5 seed), 2:30 p.m. (#1 seed vs. #8/#9 winner), 6 p.m. (#2 seed vs. #7 seed) and 9:30 p.m. (#3 seed vs. #6 seed).

The two semifinal contests are set for 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday, March 12, and the championship game will tip at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 13. All eight games of the CAA Women’s Basketball Championship can be seen on FloHoops.com.

Schar Center, which opened in August, 2018, is a state-of-the-art 5,100-seat facility that features a club area, practice court, meeting rooms and sports medicine areas. The building hosted the first two games of the 2020 CAA Women’s Basketball Championship before the event was cancelled on March 12.

Three different schools – Elon, James Madison and Towson – have won the CAA Women’s Basketball Championship over the past four years. Delaware (2012 and 2013) and Drexel (2009) have also captured CAA titles.
