Northwest Florida State forward Chanaya Pinto was named FCSAA/Region VIII Player of the Week.

Pinto averaged 17 points and 7.7 rebounds in leading the top-ranked Raiders to three Panhandle Conference wins last week, including an 18-points, 10-rebound performance against then-No. 3 Chipola on Saturday.

The sophomore has scored in double digits in all seven games this season and is averaging 18 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. It is the second time this season and third time in her career she has earned FCSAA Player of the Week honors.

The women’s basketball team returns to action on Wednesday in Raider Arena when they take on Pensacola at 5:30 p.m.
