Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Semifinalists

Anastasia Hayes, Middle Tennessee

The nation's leading scorer with 28.2 points per game, Hayes is turning in one the best seasons of any player nationally, ranking in the Top 15 of eight categories in Division I women's basketball, including points, field goals made, free throws made, assists and steals.

Dyaisha Fair, Buffalo
Fair has played and started in all 15 games this season, leading the way in scoring with 24.4 points per game, 6.5 rebounds per game, 5.2 assists per contest and a +1.7 assist-to-turnover ratio. She is one of three players in the country who are averaging at least 20 points and five assists per game. Fair is currently ranked seventh in the nation in scoring (24.4 ppg) and also ranks in the top 25 in free throws made (86) and attempted (109), three point field goals made (44) and final points (366). She has scored in double figures 14 times this season, 13 times with 20 or more points, three times with 30+ points and is one of 11 players in all of Division I to have a recorded a triple-double.

Kierstan Bell, FGCU
Bell is averaging 22.9 points, 10.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 2.2 blocks and 1.5 steals this year while shooting .560 from the field, .435 from 3-point range and .759 from the foul line. In her 14 games since becoming eligible after approval of a transfer waiver, she has produced 11 double-doubles, which has already broken the program's single-season record and puts her fourth on the program's career list behind Sarah Hansen (20), Whitney Knight (19) and Ty Adderly (14).

Bell, who broke the conference's all-time record with a seventh ASUN newcomer of the week award on Monday while also snatching her fourth player of the week honor, ranks among the top 30 nationally in double doubles (6th, 11), defensive rebounds per game (7th, 8.9), 3-point field goals made per game (8th, 3.36), field goals made (15th, 126), 3-point field goals made (19th, 47), rebounds per game (20th, 10.9), field goal percentage (21st, .560) and 3-point field goal percentage (28th, .435).

Hannah Sjerven, South Dakota
Sjerven leads the team in points, rebounds, and blocks averaging 16.6 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks.

Myah Selland, South Dakota State
Selland leads the Jackrabbits in points (18.8), rebounds (7.2), and assists (3.7) per game. 

Kionna Jeter, Towson
The senior guard is averaging 26.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.58 steals and 2.3 assists per game. Her 26.0 points per game ranks third across all of Division I basketball and first in the CAA (Colonial Athletic Association). Jeter also tops the league in steals per game. In addition, Jeter is shooting 46.1 percent from the field, 38.9 percent from beyond the arc and 82.2 percent from the line this season.

Jeter is currently at fifth overall on the Towson University women's basketball all-time scoring list. She has 1,410 career points. Next on the list is Tara Rottet with 1,416 points.

The Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year is presented by Her Hoop Stats.

Five finalists for the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award will be announced in early March, and the winner will be announced in late March.

Hammon was a three-time All-American during her career at Colorado State and led the Rams to the Sweet 16 in 1999, the program's only appearance to date. She was signed by the New York Liberty in 1999 and traded to the San Antonio Stars in 2007, where she played the remainder of her pro career.

Hammon retired In 2014 as a six-time All-Star and a two-time All-WNBA First-Team honoree. In 2016, she was named one of the top 20 players in WNBA history.
