Head Coach Jim Jabir is approaching his fourth season at the helm with his 2020-21 team being made up of 13 returners and four newcomers. Out of the 13 returners, four of those Owls were everyday starters during the 2019-20 season.

FAU opens the season tonight against North Florida, who is currently 0-2 and was picked to finish third in the ASUN preseason poll.

FAU will be looking to Lotta Vehka-Aho to carried the load. She is back for her second collegiate season after an impressive rookie campaign that was cut short six games due to a season-ending injury. Vehka-Aho averaged 12.6 PPG (T-15th in C-USA), while leading the team in assists (62) and minutes per game (33.5).

In addition, keep an eye on newcomer Bre Beck a junior college transfer from Wabash Valley and lone senior Astou Gaye who was ranked as the 4th best Junior College prospect in the 2019 class. Beck was named named No. 71 on the World Exposure Report 2020 Juco rankings. Last season she averaged 11.3 ppg for a 47.9 shooting percentage. Gaye averaged 8 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game in 27 starts last season.

UNF last meeting against FAU ended in double overtime.  Four scored in double figures including a freshman Tiffany Tolbert (North Florida) with 11 and the game featured 15 tie scores and 11 lead changes, it was FAU's fast start in the second overtime that propelled the Owls to the win.

Monday’s season home opener marks the eighth meeting between the two teams and FAU has an edge in the series, 5-2.
