Several employees at Cerritos College in Norwalk were placed on leave this week following social media posts accusing some coaches on the women's soccer team of misconduct - including allegations of sexual misconduct.

The allegations were posted to Twitter and Instagram last week on Tuesday, Aug. 11, and the following day the college opened an investigation looking into the matter. The employees in question will be placed on leave pending the outcome of the investigation, which could take approximately 60 to 90 days, officials stated.

It isn't immediately known how many employees were placed on leave or how they were connected to the soccer team. It is also unclear whether a criminal investigation into the allegations is taking place as well.

Some recent social media posts mentioned head coach Ruben Gonzalez, but it was unknown if he was placed on leave and lawyers for the coach have stated he was not involved in the allegations.

Cerritos College assistant head coach Guillermo Gonzalez, was also working at Bishop Amat High School as a physical education teacher and soccer coach when he was named in a social media post of these allegations. It is unknown whether he was tied to the investigation at Cerritos College and placed on leave.

However, in a statement on Wednesday, Bishop Amat High School said they are conducting their own investigation into the allegations and Guillermo Gonzalez would be placed on administrative leave.
