Northwest Florida women’s basketball head coach Bart Walker announced the signing of Imani Jones, a transfer from NCAA Division II Embry-Riddle, on Thursday.

Jones, a 5-10 forward from Sarasota, Fla., played in 27 games as a redshirt freshman in 2019-20. She averaged 7.0 points and 4.9 rebounds in 17.3 minutes per games.

Jones posted seven blocks on the season, second-most on the team, and was 71-for-153 (.464) from the field on the season.

“She is an extremely athletic and tough-minded forward who will bring maturity to our young program,” Walker said. “She has experience and will help our newcomers transition to the college game.”

She scored a season-high 12 points on 5-of-5 shooting against Flager and tallied her first double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds against Palm Beach Atlantic.

Jones graduated from Sarasota High School in 2018 where she played for Robert Jutras and Wade McVay. She averaged 12.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 2.4 steals in 23 games as a junior. Jones was also an all-area team selection.
