A Tulane football player, and Zachary native, was arrested in East Baton Rouge Parish over the weekend following a disturbance at an area Waffle House.

Booking records show Tyler Judson, a 19-year-old defensive back for Tulane University, was arrested in the early morning hours on Memorial Day.

Officers with the Zachary Police Department were called to Waffle House on Main Street around 2:30 a.m. Monday in response to a disturbance, records show.

Police say Denisha Coleman, just 70 pounds and 5’1” tall, was punched in the face by 185-pound Tyler Judson.

Judson was arrested on a second-degree battery count and booked into the parish prison. He has since been released.

Few details were provided in the booking information detailing the incident.

Tulane Athletics wrote in a statement, “Tulane Athletics is aware of Tyler Judson’s arrest. He has been suspended indefinitely from the Tulane football program. Tulane Athletics will have no further comment at this time."
