Who was the World Exposure NJCAA Division 1 Sophomore of the Year? Which head coach and assistant coach was named World Exposure NJCAA Division 1 Coach of the Year?  The best freshman?

Today, we are unveiling the World Exposure NJCAA Division 1 postseason awards.

Sophomore of the Year was, in the end, much easier than I thought that it was going to be to pick.

NJCAA Division 1 women's basketball Head Coach of the Year, however, was tough. There were at least four candidates that deserved the award.

Monday, March 23rd,  we will be unveiling the World Exposure NJCAA Division 1  All-America teams.

HEAD COACH OF THE YEAR: Chad Gibney, Western Nebraska
Head Coach Chad Gibney's team is 28-2 Record, 3rd in Turnovers per game- 11.1 and 11th in the nation for 3PT made per game- 8.8 and claimed their forth straight National Tournament Appearances (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020). His team is currently ranked No. 3 in the World Exposure Poll.

ASSISTANT COACH OF THE YEAR: Zach Banks, Northwest Florida State
Zach is in his third season at Northwest Florida State. He has helped Head Coach Bart Walker with two Elite Eight appearances at NWF and 1 National Tournament appearance at Motlow State. Northwest Florida. This year's team claimed the FCSAA Tournament Title with a 57-55 win over Gulf Coast.

SOPHOMORE OF THE YEAR: Ahlana Smith, Gulf Coast

For my money, this was an easy decision. The Louisville signee had a remarkable year for Gulf Coast State after transferring in from UCLA. She was named 2020 Panhandle Conference Player of the Year, earned POW behind 35+ point performances in November. The prolific scorer is the No. 1 overall prospect in junior college by the
World Exposure Report and she was the reason that Gulf Coast had a chance to win a national tournament this season.

FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR: Kobe King-Hawea, Gillette

Kobe is a future pro! Her elite playmaking ability, scoring, and rebounding helped Gillette become a Top 25 team this season.  She is 7th in the nation for assists (178), 4th in the nation for total points (675), 11th for points per game (20.5), 16th for Defensive Rebounds (192), 2nd for total field goals (284-589).
