Basketball coach with long rap sheet accused of raping player

Ramsey E. Clayter Facebook, 39, Gardner, Mass., who is a substance abuse counselor and coaches an independent  basketball club called Mountain Lions was charged with three counts of aggravated rape of a child and one count of providing obscene matter to a minor. 

Clayter was arrested Jan. 7 after the victim reported the alleged sexual assault , which occurred July 22, 2019. 

Investigators said the victim, who was 15 at the time, went to Clayter's home to sign a team-related waiver when she was raped. 

The victim told police Clayter continued to send her messages on social media daily. 

Ramsey Clayter, is being held on a $50,000 cash bail. He returns to court Feb. 14. 
 

Back in 2014, Ramsey Clayter, was an owner of the 24 Bar and Grille. He faced charges of possession of a class A drug with the intent to distribute, being present where herion was kept, and driving on a suspended license. 

In addition, in 2021 he pleaded guilty in Gardner District Court to possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and larceny of property valued more than 250.
