The mother @Basketballmom2t of former Maryland basketball players Makhi Mitchell and Makhell went on a twitter rant Sunday.

The twin brothers announced Friday they were entering the NCAA transfer portal and prior to entering the transfer portal was on the edge of being suspended by Maryland's Head Coach Mark Turgeon.  According to multiple sources, the twins had an physical altercation with star player Anthony Cowan Jr.  and was on the heels of becoming academically ineligible.

Both Mitchell twins were top three recruits from Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington, DC in 2019. Makhi Mitchell was a four-star center and Makhel Mitchell was a three-star power forward.  Makhi averaged 9.3 minutes, 3.0 points, and 3.3 rebounds per game. Makhel averaged only 6.8 minutes and 1.0 point per game. They both committed to Maryland during their junior season in large part of their relationship with then-assistant coach Kevin Broadus, who has since left the program to become the head coach at Morgan State.

This is not the first time the twins have made news for transferring. Shortly after both committed to Maryland, Makhi and Makhel Mitchell decided to transfer from Forestville (Md.) Bishop McNamara to Montverde Academy (Fla.) then they transferred to Woodrow Wilson for their Senior year.
