Jordyn Grandberry Spotlight Interview

Junior guard Jordyn Grandberry @ agjordyn27, who is nationally ranked in the 2021 class had quite the summer and is preparing for an even better high-school season. Grandberry, a Virginia native, was selected to try out of Team USA’s U16 team at the U.S. Olympic Center in Colorado Springs, CO. “Being selected to try out for Team USA was a very humbling experience. It is humbling to know that many great athletes before me have played here on this court. It was an honor to get to try and do something for your community, high school program, aau program, and for your country. Make a the team would have been amazing but the experience in itself was a blessing.”

In addition to this glorious opportunity, Jordyn was able to market her skill set to many college coaches during AAU season as she competed with other top talent from around the country on the Adidas circuit and at Division 1 college elite camps. Grandberry attended team camps at the University of Miami, Georgetown University, & the University of North Carolina Greensboro, out of which Georgetown was her favorite. “Attending these elite camps showed me what I have to do to be an elite player to get to the college level.”

Going into her Junior season at Bishop Ireton High School in the WCAC, she has set some goals for herself and her teammates as the strive to win a state championship. “This season I want to increase my confidence and points per game. I want to work hard to help my team be state champions. When I’m on the floor, I want people to see a confident player who can help her team win.”
