Melious adds more Division 1 offers, interest

The offers keep flying in for Nicole Melious, the red-hot Susan Wagner HS incoming freshman guard who has flourished this spring and summer for the St. Teresa and Hoopers New York club team.

The 5-7 guard who is currently ranked as the No.3 2023 prospect according to World Exposure picked up offers from Rutgers, Seton Hall, St. John’s, Purdue and Denver following her spectacular play at several events like Insider Exposure Hoosier Heat, ASGR Big Event, and PSB Elite 32 Summer Jam. Now another two high profile programs from the Big Ten and ACC are close to pulling the trigger.

Melious is a combo-guard that is similar to All-Time Michigan leading scorer Katelynn Flaherty and current Virginia Tech program record holder for made 3’s Dara Mabrey. Nicole is an elite scorer at all three levels, but her ability to get to the basket and finish with either hand and create her own shot and for others is what stands out now. This summer Nicole averaged 27ppg on the AAU circuit and 36ppg in High School Summer League.

According to her Hoopers NY Program Director Bryan Williams, Melious will be committing prior to her Junior year in High School.

Madison Booker,  AL Southern Starz 2023

There were moments at Nike Championships and Run 4 the Roses in July where the 5-11 do it all standout was over-the-top elite. Booker is a program changer with her dynamic scoring ability, perimeter skills, and leadership qualities. Recently, she picked up an offer from Vanderbilt.

Reniya Kelly, FBC 2023

Kelly brings a blend of playmaking and scoring ability to the backcourt. She will knock down 3’s and showcase a floater in the lane, then on the defensive side she will get deflections and steals. While playing with Jaloni Cambridge on the circuit, the 5-5 point guard help make up the best 2023 backcourt in the nation.

Breya Cunningham, SD Waves 2023

Cunningham has been putting on a show her first two days of Jr. NBA Global Championship and is gobbling up quite a bit of attention. The 6-3 Center has looked terrific this summer for San Diego Waves on the club circuit. With athleticism, shot blocking ability, and ideal tools to become one of the top 10 players in her class.  Breya looks as if she will reach that ceiling as a prospect.

Jada Williams, Missouri Phenom 2023

Jada AKA “Little Bullet” is one of the best one on one creators in the nation. The ability to change pace, penetrate and find the rim makes her tough to contain. Her scoring ability, court vision, and flare makes her an exciting player to watch.

Taryn Sides, Ohlde Elite 2023

Sides plays with high basketball IQ and energy while showcasing a scoring ability on the perimeter, highlighted by her three-point shooting marksmanship. Sides is a big name coming out of July and is picking up interest from Power 5 programs.

JuJu Watkins, Vegas United 2023

Watkins is the biggest name on the AAU scene and rightfully so. JuJu is a bucket-getting Power 5 prospect that has ability to get the rim with ease or hit the 3.

Atlanta, GA-   Showtime served as the unofficial kickoff to the week of festivities going on in the Metro Atlanta area, starting a day before the NCAA evaluation period allowed coaches to attend games. The organizers (@InsiderExposure) cleverly implemented a "showtime" theme throughout the event, naming divisions after iconic television shows, giving the proceedings a light-hearted feel. However, once the first whistle blew, it was clear that there were plenty of kids that were hungry to make a name for themselves. These are some of the players that did just that.

2020

Gabrielle Turco (5'9 Shooting Guard) - Jersey Dream

Gabrielle combines South Jersey toughness with New York City swagger to give opposing players fits whenever she has the ball. Her broad shouldered frame suggests that she would prefer powering her way to the basket, but Gabrielle surprised many with her impressive breakdown ball-handling. The fear of falling victim to one of Turco's crossovers is what allows her to create space for a picturesque jump shot that extends beyond three-point range or one of her daringly athletic drives to the basket. Ultimately, whenever Gabrielle Turco has the ball...she's a threat.
